It seems there are ALOT of problems with the employees in the Pinellas County Jail lately.
Over the weekend, a long time jail nurse was arrested for DUI.
Also this weekend the head of the Juvenile Detention Center was arrested on his 2nd DUI. (the first was knocked down to a reckless - nonetheless, it's always good to have jails run by those who can't follow the law themselves)
Last week, an off duty jail deputy drove his car into a retention pond at the jail and died. No word yet on the cause or reason for that accident.
And let's not forget about the investigator and the inmate who were having sex in the interview rooms from January of this year.
Then there was one arrested for doctor shopping (2008), another arrested for possession of child porn (2008), another for writing worthless checks (2009), and countless others over the last few years.
Wow - the inmates are running the asylum.
